MMLD's projected power mix is diverse in the technologies that generate our electricity and in the different types of transactions we use to purchase that power. Details on the different types of power generation technology are found on MMLD’s Power Portfolio webpage. The different types of purchase transactions we use include outright ownership of power generations, multi-year power purchase agreements, and short-term power purchases including next-day and same-day power purchases. These different types of transactions are needed due to the constantly changing volume of electricity Marblehead residents consume, based on the weather, the temperature, the season, and the time of day.
